Since when did giving the government more money produce anything?

A Michigan congressman wants to put a 50-cent tax on every gallon of gasoline to try to cut back on Americans' consumption.

That will help the economy. Isn't Michigan already in the tank?

"A tax on gas is a way to reduce dependence on import oil, reduce traffic congestion and reduce carbon emissions," said Lester Brown, president of the Earth Policy Institute.

How about if you pass a bill that gets environmentalists off of the back of progress so we can drill for more oil???
